Hello, all-- If you've been feverishly refreshing your browser waiting for this newsletter to show up in your inbox, I apologize for the delay. I had an urgent meeting with Smashing Pumpkins in Baltimore Friday night, and a bunch of dolphins, jellyfish and frogs on Saturday morning, that delayed my access to the Velocity database to bang this thing out. Here we are, though! Here's some comic stuff for you to chew on: Mark your calendars for Monday, August 27th... transmedia dark culture band SEPTEMBER MOURNING will be stopping by Velocity for a meet and greet and maybe even an acoustic set! Lead singer Emily Lazar is working on a graphic novel with Image co-founder Marc Silvestri, and she'd like to tell you all about it! Check them out here! We're continuing our deep discount overstock sale, at least for another week-- those dollar boxes up front have been slashed in half! Not the actual comics, just the prices-- they're now fifty cents a piece, 25 for 10 bucks! There is some great stuff in there, come check it out while you can!

BEASTS OF BURDEN: WISE DOGS & ELDRITCH MEN (Dark Horse, 4 issue mini, $3.99) Man, I love this stuff. A group of neighborhood pets act as paranormal protectors. Another great concept from Evan Dorkin, winner of EIGHT Eisner Awards! We've got the collection if you need to catch up.

BATMAN: KINGS OF FEAR (DC, 6 issue mini, $3.99) Kelley Jones was the defining Batman artist of the 90s-- look at those glorious ears! He returns to the character for this descent into fear and doubt brought to him by... the Scarecrow, of course!

RICK & MORTY VS. DUNGEONS & DRAGONS (IDW, 4 issue mini, $3.99) Two great tastes that will taste rreeaalllly weird together! Can't wait!

COLD SPOTS (Image, 5 issue Mini, $3.99) Psychological horror courtesy the hardest working writer in comics, Cullen Bunn (sit back down Jeff Lemire-- not even close). Seriously, this guy writes like 10 books a month.

PUNISHER (Marvel, Ongoing, $3.99) he might've lost the War Machine armor, but Frank's still got a taste for putting bad guys in the ground. Like you had any doubt. Looks like they're trading high-tech armor for some supernatural elements for this run. Interesting...

WEST COAST AVENGERS (Marvel, Ongoing, $3.99) This one looks wacky. Both Hawkeyes Clint & Kate put together a team featuring America Chavez and Gwenpool... particularly interested in the inclusion of Quentin Quire!
