Hello, all! Did you see the biggest X-men announcement since Grant Morrison passed the torch to Joss Whedon about 16 years ago?!? One of the greats, JONATHAN HICKMAN, is returning to Marvel to take the mutants to a much higher level. Starting in 2 miniseries titled HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X in July, it's safe to assume that's just the start of that he's doing... that guy plans 5 year arcs! While we're waiting for that to start, enjoy puzzling over this promo image and all the weirdness it brings:

DICK TRACY FOREVER (IDW, Mini, $3.99) Looks like Michael Avon Oeming finally found the prefect vessel for his art style-- this looks great!

GHOST TREE (IDW, Mini?, $3.99) Really looking forward to this one... seems there's a tree that attracts wayward souls that a gent discovers as he's going through a particularly rough patch. Artist Simon Gane is one of those guys you're just waiting for to break huge, he's amazing.

STAR TREK: YEAR FIVE (IDW, Mini, $3.99) So how'd that 5 year mission end, anyhow? FIND OUT HERE!

ASCENDER (Image, Ongoing, $3.99) The highly anticipated sequel to Lemire's and Nguyen's Descender, set 100 years ahead of the end of that one! Note: if you were subbed to Descender, that'll roll over for this one.

AVENGERS: EDGE OF INFINITY (Marvel, One-shot, $3.99) This looks like a one-shot set to coincide with the release of Avengers: Endgame... not set in movie nor comics continuity.

THANOS (Marvel, Mini, $3.99) Delving into the relationship between Thanos and his 'daughter' Gamora, by rising star writer Tini Howard and Ariel Olivetti!

WAR OF REALMS: X-MEN (Marvel, Mini, $3.99) Looks like Dani Moonstar is getting called back to the majors as a Valkyrie for this tie-in!

QUEEN OF BAD DREAMS (Vault Comics, Mini, $3.99) Cool premise-- when things escape from people's dreams into our reality, it's this lady's job to go collect them and send them back.

JUGHEAD THE HUNGER VS VAMPIRONICA (Archie, Mini, $3.99) I enjoy seeing how far Archie can push these new interpretations of their iconic characters. Werewolf Jughead still wearing the hat is great.

PUNK MAMBO (Valiant, Mini, $3.99) Oy! A mystical mercenary for hire answers the eternal question: can you BE punk if you're NAMED punk? Kinda seems like she's trying a little too hard, but what do I know? I liked REM, The Smiths and The Cure as a kid.
