Hello, all--
You might’ve missed the biggest Velocity Comics debut of the year last Wednesday… nope, it wasn’t a comic, not a book-- Velocipartner Rawn became a dad with the arrival of Roland Zgragen Gandy! Parents and baby are all doing well, feel free to bring Rawn a congratulatory cigar! But please smoke them outside, they’re a fire hazard around comics.
So, you remember a few weeks ago when I announced we were now on instagram and encouraged you to follow us there? Well, the device on which the account was created promptly died shortly after, so you might have noticed a complete lack of posting. Maybe you didn’t notice, I don’t know that I would;ve. Anyhoo, technical difficulties have been fixed and we should be good to go moving forward. It’s velocity_comics if you’d like to check out what we post!
LAST CALL! Here’s your last chance to totally guarantee these books will be available to you, add them to your pull lists if you want them!
BATMAN: EUROPA (DC) One of the most notoriously late comics of the millennium is finally coming out! Jim Lee returns to Batman, at least for the first issue.
RED THORN (DC/Vertigo) Scottish mythology invades the modern day, this looks food.
HUCK (Image) Mark Millar teams with Rafael Albuquerque for a new riff on the Superman archetype, in which the titular hero never left the small town and has kept his powers a big secret.
BLACK KNIGHT (Marvel) One of the coolest, most underrated Marvel characters gets a shot at an ongoing! Imagine how much it would eff with your heard being responsible for a mythical weapon that creates an addiction to bloodlust. Now imagine dealing with that pressure while plopped down on Weirdworld!
MIGHTY THOR (Marvel) Carrying on as before!
MS. MARVEL (Marvel) Carrying on as before, now with spiffy covers by Cliff Chiang!
SECRET WARS TOO (Marvel) One shot, making fun of the whole thang.
SILK (Marvel) Carrying on as before!
SPIDER-WOMAN (Marvel) Carrying on as before, only Jess is EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT?!?
STAR WARS: VADER DOWN (Marvel) If you’re on the list for either Star Wars or Darth Vader, we’re pulling this one for you. It’s the first SW crossover!
STAR-LORD (Marvel) Marvel morphs Peter Quill to hew even more closely to the movie version.
WRATH OF THE ETERNAL WARRIOR (Valiant) Now ongoing!
