Hello, all!
Just 8 hours north of us the NEW YORK COMIC-CON is raging! If you
haven't been keeping up with the comic announcements from the first few
days, here's a quick recap:
*Donny Cates and Nic Klein are the new post-Jason Aaron creative team on THOR!
*Al Ewing and Juann Cabal are the new post-Donny Cates creative team on GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!
*Amy Reeder is launching an AMETHYST series spinning out of Young Justice!
*Amazing artist Nick Bradshaw teams up with great writer John Layman for
a new creator-owned ongoing title BERMUDA, about a girl who lives in a
dimension stuffed with magic and monsters!
*Alex Ross reunites with Jim Krueger for MARVELS X, a prequel to Earth X!
*Aaaaand if you're into such things, DC has provided a look at their new, streamlined timeline/history HERE!
A quick word about how we order stuff: there are dozens of brand new
publishers that've popped up in the last year or two. It can be
challenging to figure out which ones are worth taking a chance on,
especially the ones publishing books by brand new creators. We're pretty
much always going to try new #1s, but we've seen a trend over the last
year where a lot of people grab a #1 either to sample or speculate on,
but we don't sell a single copy of subsequent issues. This is where you
can help: if there are off-the-beaten-path titles you're excited about
or interested in, TELL US! We love getting in the stuff that you're
stoked on, but the reality is there are hundreds of new titles coming at
us every month and we're not gonna be able to order every single one.
If we know there's interest, though, that breeds confidence in us that
we're ordering smartly.
Keep those gently used plastic and paper bags coming at us! We go
through them pretty quickly, and it feels good to know we're doing even
just a tiny little bit to lower the amount of plastic that's circulating
out there. As I've noted before, though: please make sure the bags are
dry and free of any old food hunks! Sticking your hand in a donated
plastic bag and finding an old but moist hunk or tomato is kinda
horrifying! Thanks!
LAST CALL! Our orders lock on these debuting titles MONDAY! They ship
out in a few weeks but you telling us what you want will help us
determine how many to order!
